Officer of Saxon Grenadiers a cheval (unknown author) |
I’ve already written that Patkul’s fund in
RGADA contains a detailed account of Saxon army in spring of 1701 (link1, link2, link3, link4, link5). Now is a part about Saxon “Maison du Roi”. It was of 6 Corps in the
beginning of 1701.
Two of them were a palace guard in Dresden:
-
Garde
Trabanten zu Ross, 27 men: lieutenant, corporal, 25 trabanten
-
Puis
Trabanten of 63 men, incl. 48 trabanten.
The rest 4 mounted Corps were available for
field service & participated in 1700-1701 campaigns on Duna. According to
salaries the most prestigious were Grand-Mousquetaires, then Garde du Corps
(Trabanten Garde zu Ross), Karabiniers & Grenadiers a cheval. Their
strength & composition were the following:

Hello Gromoboy!
I've created a History Blogg myself now. You're more of a veteran it seems when it comes to History blogging so could you take a look at it and give me some constructive critic to it?
http://gustavushistory.blogspot.se/
Thanks
/Gustav!
Good start! I wish you good luck!
Please check a list of troops, if I am not mistaken Rehnskiold also had Leib-Dragoners
Thank you very much! And yes you are right! I forgot them! Problem fixed!
I have a question! How did you create those "links" or "folder" on the left side of the blog? Since it would be very needed in the future for me to organize the posts after time period and battle instead of upload date.
When you are inside your blog, select "Design". You will see a template of a page. Then find "Labels" & put it at any place of the template.
