Imperial-Bavarian army under Hatzfeld in the camp at Zons, June 1642

In May of 1642 Imperial troops under GFM Grafen Melchior von Hatzfeldt and Bavarians under Grafen Joachim Christian Wahl (also variants Waall, Wall, Waal, Wahle) made French army under Marshal Jean Baptiste de Budes comte de Guébriant to lift the siege of Lechenich & to return on the left bank of Rhine. Then Allied army took a fortified position at Zons on both banks of Rhine on 12 June 1642. The engraving presents details of the Allied camp. According to it they have 9 Foot &13 Reiter regiments & several independent coys of Imperials & 5 Foot & 9 Reiter regiments of Bavarians (see details below)
