Wodzicki Dragoons (Polish army in the War of Polish Succession)

Unter-officer & GM Piotr Wodzinski
Wodzinski Dragoons, ar. 1732
Drawing by B. Gembarzewski

Created in 1717 from existed J. Lubelski Dragoons (general-major, podstoli koronny, kasztelan Sandomierski). Regiment got 6th seniority among dragoons.
Gembargewski in his Rodowody pulkow polskich… mentions that in 1726-1768 the chief was Wielopolski Hieronim (general-major, koniuszy w. koronny (1726), gen. lejtn. (1761). But in 1732 the chief was general-major Petr Wodzicki, stolnik krakowski. Colonel was baron Sandretski. Evidently Wielopolski got the regiment after Wodzicki but the date is unclear (in 1735?). Since 2.III.1768 Raczyński Kazimierz, pisarz w. koronny, 28.V.1771 - Raczyński Filip, płk. star. mieścicki, gen. mjr.
The image at the left presents Wodzicki Dragoons around 1732 in the uniform of the Saxon pattern of 1729. It was introduced in the Polish Crown army around 1730 & was evidently in use till 1764.
In 1776 the regiment was converted into 9th Foot regiment (regiment pieczy F. Raczyńskiego).
