С праздником 9 мая!


Согласно последним данным, СССР потерял 26,6 млн. чел. в той страшной войне...

According to the recent researches, USSR lost about 26,6 millions during the WWII... The most of them were civilians...

  1. That was because of Stalin's modernization of Sovjet Union by force if I remember correcly. Also, the nazis during the Barbarossa offensive killed many civilians for the German's "lebensraum". Am I right? Correct me if I'm wrong, this is not the part of history I know the best.

    1. 26,6 Mln are losses during the WW2: killed, diseases, starvation, etc. It's a huge losses. That's why for Russians & all ex-Soviets the 9 of May is not a day of the victory. It's a sacral day of the Memory.

      Stalin's modernization (industrialization and collectivization) is an other story. It was completed by the end of 1930s.

  2. Alright thank you! As I said this is not the subject I know the most about so thanks for teaching me about this period. If I understood it correctly, you don't only like the GNW but Russian military history over all?
